Sardines are prepared and canned by hand, as company tradition. These are large sardines (rarely 2 or 5) with skin and bone and take up 3/4 of the can!
This particular variety is packed using a gmo free vegetable oil with a lemon flavor. The result is a milder or neutral taste experience and as a bonus it is also less expensive. While the fish and production remain the highest level many people prefer a neutral oil flavor and forward fish flavor. This combination allows for the natural taste of the sardines to shine!
